This is probably the number one reason you will want to scale back a bit on accessories like shoes, jewelry, and lingerie. Before you start drafting a budget or even shop, read this first.

1- Assess What You Own

If you already have a thing or two on your list, that will save you some money in the long run. Do you already have a pair of fabulous sandals or pumps that you hardly ever wear? Do you already have a few gorgeous jewels like necklaces, pendants, or earrings? Maybe you even have a spare pair of sheer nylons? Make a list of what you have and keep the items together so you’ll save time on your big day.

2- Hunt for Bargains

Never pay more for anything if you don’t have too! Be on the lookout for things like jewelry, lingerie, hosiery, and shoes. Dyeables formal footwear is a notable brand that makes a variety of sandals, platforms, and flats. These shoes come in white, but they were designed to be dyed any color you want. These shoes are available at specialty and bridal shops. If you’re looking for affordable lingerie, you could shop at Victoria’s Secret, a shop that has a wide selection of basics like strapless bras and seamless thongs. Its also a good place to stock up on honeymoon essentials.

3- Borrow Jewelry

If you just have to wear exquisite pieces of jewelry on your big day, you should borrow your baubles. Adorn is a wonderful website that allows you to borrow real diamond jewelry for a fraction of the cost you would pay if you purchased the piece. They have a fabulous selection of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.

Now that the wedding season has begun, many of us are scrambling to our calendars to make plans to attend at least one or two weddings this year. Before you schedule these special events, find out how to dress for any wedding you choose to attend.

1. Figure Out the Dress Code

Most invitations indicate a dress code if there is one. Black tie or formal means tuxes for men and evening dresses for women. Semi-formal means that men can can opt for dressy suits and women can wear cocktail dresses. Informal or dressy casual offers more style flexibility, but that doesn’t mean you should abandon your sense of style. Women can try wearing a party dress (made from a quality material like silk) or pair a ruffled blouse with pencil skirt. Men should stick to nice suits.

2. Add Special Accessories

No matter what you wear, keep in mind that accessories are key. Ladies should invest in a good pair of sandals, a special evening bag, and at least one piece of jewelry. If the wedding is held during the evening or on the beach, a light jacket or bolero will come in handy. Men need a good pair of dress shoes and cuff links. If you’re going to purchase new accessories, be sure to shop for quality.

3. Hair and Makeup (women)

The same general rules apply to hair, skin, and makeup. Casual and semi-formal weddings call for light makeup and simple chignons. You can probably get away with even simpler styles for casual beach weddings. Try loose waves pinned up in a half up-do and pastel makeup colors. Black-tie weddings are tricky because you want a look that is somewhat dramatic without coming across as too much. Try a classic updo with smoky eyes and pink lip gloss.

If you’re planning a wedding on the beach, you sometimes have to take a different route when it comes to the finer details. What works for a traditional wedding held at a church or other indoor venue sometimes doesn’t work for a beach wedding. One of the most important things to consider is the wedding dress and the entire look. Here are some guidelines to help you find the right wedding gown and accessories for a beach wedding.

1- Think Simple

Since most beach weddings are outdoors, you’re going to have to choose a dress that’s beautiful but could brave the elements. Try a dress with a slender silhouette or slightly shorter skirt. Steer clear from ballgown styles or dresses with a lot of layers. Opt for a dress with a simple elegant shape and minimal frills.

2- Skip The Heels

Unless you’re walking in an ocean front lobby, you might want to opt for a pair of comfy sandals in white or cream. And while you may be a little tempted to slip on a pair of flip-flops, don’t! A beach wedding is still an elegant event that deserves something much more elegant.

3- Go Easy On Accessories

A simpler wedding dress does not give you permission to over-embellish, so remember to accessorize lightly. Choose up to 2 pieces of jewelry and your veil. If you choose one large piece of jewelry, keep the second piece more low-key, or you can opt to keep both pieces low-key. You could also skip the veil or headpiece altogether and put a real flower in your hair! When it comes to bridal accessories, the possibilities are endless.

Choosing the perfect hairstyle for the big day really depends on a few things, including your personal taste, the vision or theme of the wedding, and your entire look. Traditional brides often choose a classic chignon, bohemian brides often opt for long romantic waves, and uptown brides prefer elegant up-dos. Once you settle on a hair style that complements the dress and veil, you’ll probably want to try re-creating the hairstyle a few times before the actual big day. This can be done with the help of a professional hairstylist or your friend. Still haven’t found your ideal look? Here are some top tips for inspiration!

1- Find A Style That Works With Your Hair
If you’ve got long curly locks, then maybe a super straight and sleek up-do isn’t such a good idea, at least for your wedding day. The ideal hairstyle should not only make you feel beautiful, but it also should complement the style and texture of your hair. The last thing you need to worry about on your wedding day is your hair frizzing out.

2- Consider A Half-Updo
Can’t decide between an up-do or leaving your hair down? Try a half-updo! This look is relatively easy to create and maintain. It’s also a romantic style that works with virtually all hair types and textures.

3- Trade The Veil For Accessories
Instead of covering up your glamorous hairstyle, why not play it up with a tiara, pretty comb or barrette? Don’t just use any hair accessory, you want something with timeless elegance. Choose just one accessory and make sure it complements the rest of your jewelry. And if you do opt for a hair accessory, remember to keep the rest of jewelry minimal.

Selecting the perfect bridal gown is one of the most important fashion decisions you will make in your lifetime, but don’t forget the accessories which will complete the entire look. The right shoes, jewelry, and even lingerie, are just as important as the right dress. Here is a mini guide to selecting bridal accessories.

Shoes
Heels, sandals, and pumps are all wonderful options, but if you’re going to do a lot of dancing you might re-think your options. Elegant leather flats and embellished kitten heels are both stylish yet comfy options. If you’re getting married on a beach, you might be tempted to eschew footwear altogether, but you still should bring a pair of nice shoes like flat sandals with embellished detailing or designs. As for selecting shoe color, most brides choose either white or ivory colored footwear to match their gowns, but there is no real color rule on bridal footwear. If you want something unique, think metallic shades like gold or silver.

Lingerie
What’s underneath is just as important as what’s on top- that is why getting the appropriate undergarments is so important. You might consider getting a professional bra fitting at your favorite lingerie shop, as they can help you find the exact size and recommendations. You’ll need to choose a bra that goes with the style of your dress. For instance, a strapless bra for a strapless dress. Make sure to research your options well before shopping. Another thing to purchase is shapewear, especially if you’re wearing a form fitting gown. Many specialty bridal shops sell a variety of lingerie or shapewear for you big day, so check there first. If not, a fine department store is your best bet.

Jewelry
We all know the most important pieces of jewelry include your engagement and wedding rings but a few extra baubles never hurt! Keep it simple and sentimental by wearing at least one piece that was treasured by your mother or grandmother. You also could browse in vintage shops to find something unique that you love. A few fast rules, don’t pile on layers of jewelry, and don’t wear big or flashy pieces that call for attention. Less is always more when it comes to jewelry.
