There are really no rules about how your makeup is supposed to look, but it is generally a smart choice to keep your makeup look glamorous and simple. Instead of pairing smoky eyes with bright red lips, why not choose one and play down the rest? Most beach weddings are a little more casual, so it’s a great idea to keep in mind that less is more.

4- When It Comes To Hairstyles, Think Beach-y Waves

There is nothing more romantic (or more appropriate) for a beach weddings than long and loose waves.  Start the look with fresh clean hair, then take a curling iron and  create loose spirals. Finish off the look with a little bit of hair spray. From there you can pin them up into a loose chignon or updo or you can leave your hair down and pin a tropical flower to your hair.

1- Think Simple

Since most beach weddings are outdoors, you’re going to have to choose a dress that’s beautiful but could brave the elements. Try a dress with a slender silhouette or slightly shorter skirt.  Steer clear from ballgown styles or dresses with a lot of layers. Opt for a dress with a simple elegant shape and minimal frills.

2- Skip The Heels

Unless you’re walking in an ocean front lobby, you might want to opt for a pair of comfy sandals in white or cream. And while you may be a little tempted to slip on a pair of flip-flops, don’t! A beach wedding is still an elegant event that deserves something much more elegant.

3- Go Easy On Accessories

A simpler wedding dress does not give you permission to over-embellish, so remember to accessorize lightly. Choose up to 2 pieces of jewelry and your veil. If you choose one large piece of jewelry, keep the second piece more low-key, or you can opt to keep both pieces low-key. You could also skip the veil or headpiece altogether and put a real flower in your hair! When it comes to bridal accessories, the possibilities are endless.

1- If you are affiliated with a church, you might want to check to find out if your minister or rabbi is willing to officiate at the ceremony.  Some religions, like Catholicism, won’t marry a couple outside the church. If your minister or rabbi cannot make it to officiate the wedding or perhaps you‘re not so religious, there are other choices, including a notary of public or a justice of the peace. If you’re having a beach wedding in another country, make sure you research their rules about officiants as well as the legal regulations.

2- The best thing about most beach weddings is that they’re often the most simple. With a beautiful ocean backdrop scenery, it’s easy to see why the beach is the ultimate destination! That said, most beaches are public property so you’ll need to find out about the laws and permit fees. If you are getting married in Mexico or the Caribbean, it probably would be a wise decision to choose a resort that offers wedding packages. Getting married in another country can be a difficult task,  and enlisting the help of a resort and local wedding planner will save you time and money.

3- If you already live in California, Florida, or Texas, you might want to take advantage of the beautiful local beaches. There are companies and agencies who can help couples plan beautiful weddings on the beach, but you still will want to do some research to find out if they are a reputable agency so you don’t get scammed.
