When it comes to bridal accessories, jewelery is just as important as the shoes and the veil. A bride needs to carefully choose pieces that speak to her and enhance her style. A wedding is the one time you never want to just throw on pieces. Because not all brides are the same, it’s important to recogonize your individual style and work with that. Here are some ideas for three different brides.

1- Classic Bride
If your wedding gown is simple by design with minimal embellishments and pure white, you are a classic bride. This style does not mean that you have adorn yourself in basic jewelry. Add a little sparkle with a gorgeous pair of diamond stud earrings or a large cocktail ring with a geninune gemstone. You could also wear delicate pieces like drop earrings, dainty bracelets in silver or gold, or a real cameo necklace. A classic bride never cares about wearing the latest trends, as she almost always prefers to wear the timeless pieces that never waver in style.

2- Trendy Bride
If you’re wearing one of the many bridal gowns that were shown at the bridal show, then chances are you’re a bride who loves to be a little trendy. Keep in mind that you should not try a new trend on the day of your wedding. If, however, you find a trendy look you love a week or so prior to the big day, you could wear it. The best trendy pieces look new, but are not too avante garde. You want to wear something that looks striking, not intimidating. Trendy bridal jewelry options include colored stones (specifically greens, pinks, and blues), beaded bracelets, and delicate chain-link necklaces.

3- Vintage Bride
If you look back at Jackie O’s heyday for style inspiration, or you call yourself a modern bohemian, you are a vintage bride. You like to wear pieces that tell a story, and you prefer to avoid anything that is faux vintage. Ask your mother, aunt, or grandmother if they have any special pieces you could borrow for your big day. If you are going for a specific style, like 1920s flapper, you should choose genuine art-deco pieces. A vintage bride doesn’t need to match the jewelry style to the dress style, but she should find styles that complement her overall look.

The day of your wedding will perhaps be the biggest adventure of your life. With all the built-up excitement and anticipation, not to mention the seemingly endless list of things to do, it’s easy to forget that inevitable road blocks and minor disasters will happen.

While you can’t forsee the future, nor can you prevent every hurdle that comes your way, there are some things that you can take control of, like beauty blunders. Here are a few of the most common beauty blunders and how to fix them.

1- A large pimple forms on your face the day before your wedding.

Stress is the inevitable side-effect that comes with planning a wedding, and unfortunately, this can result in the unsightly formation of pimples. But what if you get a pimple the day of or the day before your wedding? Whatever you do, don’t try to extract the mole yourself! Instead, try to squeeze in a last minute appointment with your dermatologist for a cortisone injection – immediate relief.

2- You’re having a bad hair day, and getting another blow-out isn’t an option.

If you don’t have the time to revive your hair, and you don’t have the time to make it to a salon, take a quick shower so you can shampoo and condition. Next, take a blow-dryer and a flat brush to dry your hair straight. Once you’ve done that, you can style as usual.

3- As soon as you sit in your makeup artist’s chair, she informs you that your skin is very oily.

Of all the blunders mentioned in this article, oily skin is probably the easiest to manage. If you have an oily skin problem, you might want to start using a quality cleanser that was made for oily skin, like Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. If your skin continues to get oily throughout the day, store skin blotting tissues inside your bridal emergency beauty kit to bring with you on the go.

You want a pair of footwear that’s beautiful to look at and comfy enough to wear. Shopping for bridal shoes should be more fun and less stressful than shopping for the dress. Here is how you can find your ideal pair of footwear.

1- Think About Your Dress

Before you start your search for the perfect pair of shoes, you need to figure out what you’re going to wear first. If you’re wearing a long column gown, you will want shoes that boost your height a little, so stilettos or platforms are a wonderful option. If you’re wearing a classic ballgown, yet you crave an edgier style, try a pair of white or ivory stiletto boots. No matter which pair you choose to wear, make sure they reflect your look in a stylish way.

2- Keep Comfort in Mind

No matter how terrific your new pair of heels look, if you can’t walk in them, or if they don’t feel comfortable, it’s no use. Make sure you purchase your new pair of shoes at least a month before the wedding, and walk in them for a few days to break them in. The last thing you want at your wedding is to stumble while walking down the aisle!

3- Consider Flats

If you prefer shoes without a high heel, or if you’d rather wear a pair of shoes that you can dance comfortably in, flats are probably your best bet. Purchase a fabulous pair of shoes that feature elements of striking design, like a pointy heel or ruffles or jewels on the toe. Flats may not have that sexy heel that most women like, but they can offer a lot of style and more comfort!

This is probably the number one reason you will want to scale back a bit on accessories like shoes, jewelry, and lingerie. Before you start drafting a budget or even shop, read this first.

1- Assess What You Own

If you already have a thing or two on your list, that will save you some money in the long run. Do you already have a pair of fabulous sandals or pumps that you hardly ever wear? Do you already have a few gorgeous jewels like necklaces, pendants, or earrings? Maybe you even have a spare pair of sheer nylons? Make a list of what you have and keep the items together so you’ll save time on your big day.

2- Hunt for Bargains

Never pay more for anything if you don’t have too! Be on the lookout for things like jewelry, lingerie, hosiery, and shoes. Dyeables formal footwear is a notable brand that makes a variety of sandals, platforms, and flats. These shoes come in white, but they were designed to be dyed any color you want. These shoes are available at specialty and bridal shops. If you’re looking for affordable lingerie, you could shop at Victoria’s Secret, a shop that has a wide selection of basics like strapless bras and seamless thongs. Its also a good place to stock up on honeymoon essentials.

3- Borrow Jewelry

If you just have to wear exquisite pieces of jewelry on your big day, you should borrow your baubles. Adorn is a wonderful website that allows you to borrow real diamond jewelry for a fraction of the cost you would pay if you purchased the piece. They have a fabulous selection of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.

Caring for your skin is one of the most important things you can do concerning your beauty routine. Unfortunately, the stress of the wedding makes it hard for the bride-to-be to focus on anything other than the wedding. This should be no excuse for the abandonment of good skincare habits; here is how you can do that.

1- Schedule an Appointment with a Dermatologist

If you haven’t been to a dermatologists office in a while, then you should really schedule an appointment at least six months before the wedding. Your dermatologist can give you a consultation to find out which skincare treatments you may need, give recommendations for products, and answer any questions you might have. During this appointment, be sure to address any skin problems you might have, including acne, psoriasis, or rosacea. Now is also the time to schedule any appointments for chemical peels or laser treatments. Never schedule these treatments right before your wedding.

2- Continue Your Daily Skincare Routine

Cleanse and moisturize twice a day as recommended. If you’re running on limited time, once a day is fine, but don’t make it a habit. Exoliate your skin once a week or as directed by your dermatologist.

3- Consult a Professional Makeup Artist for a Makeover

If you hate shopping for foundation, applying eyeliner, or you really just don’t know where to begin, there are options out there. Makeup is tricky, and if you want it done right, it’s a good idea to call in a professional for help. If you can afford it, you might want to have a trial run to see what the finished result would look like or maybe to experiment a little. If you like what you see, you could hire the professional for your wedding day. Don’t forget to take notes on what products to stock up on for touch-ups!

Of all the things you will stress about on your wedding day, your hair should not be one of them. No matter what hairstyle you choose to wear, here are the top styling essentials you will need to make your dream look happen!

1- Quality Hairspray

A quality hairspray is key to making your hairstyle last longer, especially if your wedding is an outdoor event. L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray ($12.99 at Target) is the perfect choice as it works, and it’s affordable. It’s lightweight, and it won’t leave your hair with a sticky residue. Just a little of this will go along way to make your hairstyle look simply perfect.

2- Bobby or Hair Pins

If you’re planning on an updo or a half-updo, bobby pins are a must-have. Although bobby and hair pins come in the plethora of colors, for weddings it’s a better option to use pins that are closest to your natural hair color so they blend in.

3-Hairbrush and Hairdryer with Diffuser Attachment

Whether the hairstyle you’re going for is sleek and sexy, or chic and wavy, all amazing hairstyles can be achieved with the simplest of styling tools: a hairdryer with diffuser attachment and a good hairbrush. Of course it’s important to note that the “right” hairbrush is subjective to the style you have in mind. Sleek hair needs a flat brush and wavy/curly hair needs a round brush.

4- Hair Extensions

Hair extensions are ideal for those who want to add length or volume to their hairstyle. Unless you’ve got lots of experience in applying extensions to your hair, you might want to leave it to the experts for your big day. You’ll want to find a set of extensions that match your natural hair color and texture so they look and feel like your own natural hair.

It is a serious commitment – sharing your life with that special someone. And like everything else in life, marriage comes with certain trade-offs; you may have less time for yourself, but you’ll gain an ally for life. If you’re a bride-to-be, and you have some free time between the engagement and wedding, try to squeeze in some of the activities listed below.

1- Go on a Girls Only Getaway

This may be your last chance to get away from it all as a single lady, so be sure to make the most of it with a getaway. Popular choices include Miami (for the sexy beaches and hyper nightlife), and Las Vegas (gambling and exquisite restaurants). If you long to visit a secluded resort in the middle of tropical paradise, you could go to the Caribbean or take a 3-day island-hopping cruise.

2- Decorate Your Bedroom

Have you ever dreamed of dressing your bed with bright pink bedding, or painting a mural on your walls? Fulfill your dream now, and you won’t regret it. You could also decorate any other room in the house you want, like the kitchen or bathroom.

3- Take a “Me” Day

Clear your calendar on any given Saturday or Sunday, and take that day off. Go the the spa, or go shopping, or stay home and do nothing; it’s up to you.

4- Start a Scrapbook of Your Relationship

If you have pictures that date back to when you first met, why not start a scrapbook that tells the story of your relationship? Buy an album with acid-free paper, craft papers, and whatever else you need to create the masterpiece. When you come home from your honeymoon, you can share it with your husband, or maybe even give it to him as a gift!

Every bride wants to look beautiful on her big day, and often times that means looking to the stars for ideas. I’m not talking about horoscopes either; I’m talking about looking for inspiration from your favorite Hollywood stars. You already look up to them for fashion tips, hairstyles, and makeup trends, so why not take their glamorous looks, and make them work for you on your big day?

Here are some of the latest trends:

1- Bold Lip Color

This season, we’ve seen a lot of starlets wearing the brightest lip colors, especially reds and corals. This trend has been seen on popular actresses like Emma Stone and Christina Hendricks. Can this look work for brides? Sure it can, as long as you find a color that looks great for your skin tone, and that is a little muted. If your skin tone is pale to medium light, try cooler shades with rosy undertones, like a berry red. If your skin tone is olive to dark, try warmer shades with rich undertones, like creamy coral.

2- Doing Your Own Makeup

Many brides prefer to hire a professional makeup artist to glam them up on their big day, but the latest trend is to do it yourself. Kate Middleton saved money by doing her own makeup with a little help from a Bobbi Brown makeup artist. Your best bet would be to try on several different looks with a makeup artist, and then have her write down the how-to on getting the look. Do a few test runs until you get the look perfected.

3- Pumped Up Ponytails And Chignons

The pompadour is back in a big way, so many starlets make it work for their own style. You can pump up the volume at the crown by back-combing a large portion of hair on top of your head, and then securing it with a few hair pins. You can take the rest of your hair and do whatever you want with it. You could create a low-side ponytail, or even a tight chignon.

Every bride deserves to look beautiful on her special day, and with the right products and tools, she can. Read on to find out which products are a must-have for every bride-to-be.

1- Faux Tanning Cream

Baking out in the sun is so passé. Getting that natural and healthy looking glow is still in. What can you do? Use a faux tanning cream instead! Apply the product at least a few days beforehand to ensure a perfect looking tan. If you’ve never applied tanning cream before, or if you’re not very good at applying it, you might consider going to a salon and having a professional spray tan done.

2- Teeth Whitening Strips

Your wedding day should be a time of smiles, so make sure that you’re prepared by whitening and brightening your teeth weeks in advance. The most affordable option is Crest Whitening 3D Strips. These clear plastic strips are enhanced with a safe peroxide based formula and provide results that last for months. You can further enhance your grin with whitening toothpastes.

3- A Rich Moisturizer

Solve your dry skin by using a body moisturizer at least twice a day. Look for a product that is enriched with natural ingredients, like aloe vera or chamomile. For best results, apply the body lotion to your skin once in the morning and once in the evening.

4- Neutral Nail Lacquer

No bride wants to walk down the aisle with a gaudy looking manicure or chipped nails. Your best solution is to select a warm neutral nail lacquer, and give yourself a professional quality manicure at least the day before your wedding. Start off with nails that were trimmed down a little and filed. Apply a clear bottom coat of color sealer on each nail, then let dry. Apply two sheer coats of nail lacquer, let it dry, and finally apply the top color sealer coat to protect the nail color.

In this economy, many engaged couples are rethinking the whole large and opulent reception party. A big fancy wedding is nice, if you can afford it, but many people would rather save their money for more important things like that memorable honeymoon in Europe or perhaps even a savings plan to pay off their debts. This is why low-key reception parties are now back in style! Here are some cool ideas to inspire you.

What to skip: Expensive French food and Italian wines

What you should try instead: Revamped versions of your favorite meals and affordable wines. If you love the classic beef lasagna, ask your caterer to make an upscale version with goat’s milk cheese and garnished with slivered almonds. The thing here is to serve what you love but make it special.

What to skip: Hiring the most-sought after bridal consultant in town

What you should try instead: Consult your most recently married friend or relative. With two minds working together, you are sure to come up with lots of creative ways to decorate and style the wedding on a budget. Plus, if she is you best friend, nobody else is better suited to help you achieve that perfect wedding. Together you can look through wedding magazines, browse the internet, contact the companies, and shop for yourselves. It’s good to have a close friend work as an ally for your big day.

What to skip: A large orchestra that performs the classic wedding standards

What you should try instead: Hire a cool local band that everyone loves. Ideally, you want to find a band that can perform a wide range of music styles like pop, rock, and country. You also want to find a band that’s had several years of experience in performing at weddings and one that has great reviews.
