This week, we will continue to list more fun attractions, restaurants, and bars.

More Places to Visit:

Boston is home to some of this nation’s finest museums, so if you and your fiancé are big culture buffs, you’ll both fall in love with this city. Notable museums and galleries include the Museum of Fine Arts, John F. Kennedy (JFK) Library, and the National Heritage Museum. All three places display artifacts of history and culture. The famed Faneuil Hall is another venue of historic importance as the third floor houses a museum and an armory.

If you get bored of the historic sights, you could check out the New England Aquarium, an oceanic conservatory that is home to some of the world’s most fascinating sea creatures like the Cownose Ray, Sand Tiger Shark, Atlantic Harbor Seals, Seadragons, and more. If you go, don’t miss the Amazon Rainforest exhibit, which is a topical tour that lets you get a close up of intimidating creatures like the Anaconda snake and Piranhas.

Where to Shop:

Are you looking for a few cool boutiques that are stocked with the latest in trendy fashion, or are you on the hunt for distinctive souvenirs from Boston? This city has plenty of shopping areas that are sure to please every kind of shopper. Label-loving fashionisas will love 344 (a boutiqe that’s located at the trendy Shops at Prudential Center), a prime destination for skinny jeans, sparkly party tops, and kitschy accessories. Book worms should pay a visit to Raven Used Books (located in Newberry shopping disctrict), the home of good reads at discounted prices. For window shoppers or people who just enjoy browsing, you should pay a visit to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, an indoor shopping plaza has a mix of chain stores like Coach and Urban Outfitters along with local restaurants.

Where to Eat and Drink:

With big Ivy league schools like MIT and Harvard, it’s easy to pass off Boston as a college town that caters mostly to the under-25 crowd, but there is so much more to the city than just cheap cafés and collegiate bars.

If you’re in the mood for exquisite cuisine and a romantic atmosphere, you’ll be impressed with Aquatiane French Bistro. Here you can dine on Steak Tartare and Crispy Arctic Char while taking in the cozy ambience that comes from sitting in a dark wooden bench that’s washed in soft lights. Aquatiane also has an impressive selection of fine wines! It’s the perfect restaurant for dinner.

For the times you’d prefer a more casual atmosphere, Cactus Club is a good choice. This Mexican restaurant serves up spicy dishes like Carne Asada Tacos with scallions or a Slow Braised Pork Burrito Grande. Complete your meal with a delicious margarita. Cactus Club was voted for Best Margaritas from several local publications.

Thinking about a Boston honeymoon? Here are the top spots for staying, playing, and dining.

Where To Stay

The perfect honeymoon starts with a romantic location, and Boston has lots of options ranging from top tier hotels to quaint bed and breakfast inns. If elegance and location are important to you, consider staying at the Eliot Hotel, located in downtown Boston. This modern boutique-style accommodation offers deluxe rooms and suites, both of which were artistically decorated with neutral fabrics and lavish furnishings. And given its wonderful location in the Back Bay area, the proximity to restaurants, bars, and shopping is second to none. If you would prefer a home-like atmosphere, Taylor House Bed and Breakfast is a terrific option. It’s a beautiful historic house that has elegantly appointed rooms that were decorated with colorful and modern touches. The exterior of the house is equally appealing with Victorian architecture and manicured gardens.

Where To Visit

Boston is a large city and an exciting destination with lots of things to do. As with any vacation, you first need decide on what to add to your must-see list first. Do you want to explore the city’s history? Take a tour or pay a visit to the Boston National Historical Park. If you’d rather spend your honeymoon getting some extra exercise, you could rent a bike from Urban Adventours and explore the city on your own, or you could go ice skating at Kendall Square Skating Rink.

Next time, we will share more fun sights, activities, restaurants, and bars.

Why not take advantage of your wedding registry and add some of the things you want for your trip on your registry?

Here are some things you will definitely want to add to your wish list!

1 – A Set of Quality Luggage

You should never underestimate what a good set of luggage can do for you and your traveling experience. Since you’re shopping for (potential) wedding gifts, it is perfectly okay to ask for premium luggage, like Samsonite or Tumi. If you or your fiancé travel a lot, you’ll probably want to ask for a full luggage set with 3 or 4 pieces.

2 – A Digital Camera or Video Camera

A great camera is just the thing to capture all your favorite moments. A video camera was made to capture the moments as they happen. If you don’t already have a good digital camera, now is the time to list a camera (or video camera) that you want.

3 – Tablet Computers

In-flight movies bore you? Ask for an iPad, iPod Touch, or Android Tablet PC, and you guys will never be bored again! A cool tablet will let you upload your favorite songs, videos, games, books, and apps, so you can take all your favorite things with you wherever you go. The only negative is that you may fight over it.

4 – Travel Adapter

If you’re going overseas on your honeymoon, make sure you bring a travel adapter (don’t worry – they’re affordable at under $30). Just follow the instructions and plug your electronic item into the travel adapter before you use it. It’s a handy little device that you will probably use time and time again if you frequently travel to other countries.

The southeastern portion of the United States is often overlooked by tourists, but with an abundance of lush green forests with stately trees, historic towns brimming with charms from long ago, and modern seaside resorts that offer a slice of paradise with homespun style, it is a great place to visit. If any one of these descriptions sounds inviting, you and your fiancé might want to consider a visit there for your honeymoon!

1- Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston is one of the most charming cities in the south, next to Savannah(see below). Stay at one of the many historic inns or bed and breakfasts, like 21 East Battery. It is a lovely little house that features modern country style design and serves low country cuisine. Spend your days exploring the antebellum elegance of the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, shopping at the Citadel Mall, or walking on the sand at any one of the four beaches.

2- Savannah, Georgia

Savannah has more than just history and antebellum style, it also has plenty of things to interest those who are into paranormal as well. They call it the “Most Haunted City in America” for a reason. See it for yourself, and book a Haunting Tour for an afternoon of frights and history. Other attractions and sights worth checking out include art galleries, museums, city parks, and historical houses.

3- Outer Banks, North Carolina

The Outer Banks in North Carolina is a popular choice for people who want a simple beach vacation. There’s the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, a scenic seventy miles of shoreline that’s perfect for swimming or fishing, and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, a place that’s home to many different species of birds and other living creatures. You’ll be spending much of your time admiring the incredible scenery, so be sure to bring a digital camera to record your adventure.

Of course, it’s the planning part that’s fun! Nobody wants to think about the potential problems that could come up during the trip. What if you or your fiancé get sick? What if one of you loses your passport or cash? There is no way you can come up with solutions for every single potential problem, but there is a way to prepare. Here is a brief list of important things to pack up for the big trip along with your clothes, books, and MP3 players

1- Know Where You’re Going and Let Others Know

Keep a list of the place(s) you will stay, along with addresses and phone numbers. Make sure they have your cell phone and email address as well. If you have an itinerary, then you should share that with them.

2- Make Copies of Your Passport, Visa, and ID

Sometimes things happen and you lose things, so make sure you’re prepared for whatever might arise, and bring several copies of your passport, Visa, and whatever else needs to be copied.

3- Take Health Essentials

A vacation should never be an used as an excuse to neglect your health. Be sure to bring any necessary medications, doctor information, and health insurance information. If you’re heading to a sunny beach location, don’t forget to pack sunscreen and sunglasses.

4- Use Credit Cards

Leave all your cash at home, and bring your credit cards instead. If you bring cash or a debit card, and you lose them, you’re on your own. Bringing a credit card provides extra financial protection for those just-in-case moments. It’s also good to have an extra line of credit for emergencies.

I already told you about the cool culture of Berlin and the amazing spas in Baden. This week I will tell you even more about Schwarzwald. Learn about the Black Forest and a German port city that is worth checking out. You can read the first post here.

Countryside Romance in Schwarzwald (Black Forest)

I already told you about the spas in the small town of Baden-Baden which is located in Schwarzwald, but there is so much more to this area than just luxurious resorts. This beautiful forest offers four seasons of fun, which include snow sports and skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. Other worthwhile attractions are seasonless like Deutsches Uhrenmuseum in Furtwangen, a gallery that’s dedicated to the history of clocks and timepieces.

Charming Port City of Bremen

If you love seaside villages, Bremen might be a place you will want to visit on your honeymoon. Start your romantic trip by booking a room at the luxurious Swissotel Bremen, which is located in the center of the historic district and close to most of the town’s major attractions – Bremen Town Hall and the famous Roland Statue, both of which were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Another attraction in Bremen worth a visit is the Dom St. Petri (Cathedral of Saint Peter), which has painted ceilings inside and a tower that you can climb up to get an impressive view of the city. When you’re not admiring the world-class attractions, you can enjoy a meal at the Hillman’s Restaurant or sit back with a drink in the lounge, both of which are located inside in the hotel mentioned above.

When it comes to honeymooning in Europe, most people envision the charming towns of Italy, the romantic (and historic) city of Paris, or the countryside vineyards in Spain. It’s important to note that much of the continent is overlooked by many travelers, so people miss the best of that Europe has to offer. I want to show you what you might overlook, and what you won’t want to miss. Let’s start in Germany.

Spas in Baden

Looking for a luxurious paradise set amidst a country-like landscape? Look no further than the Brenners Park Hotel & Spa. This gorgeous hotel has beautiful country-style decor inside each room and amazing scenery surrounding it. The real draw to this hotel is the large spa, which offers a variety of aesthetic and medical services, including facials, body treatments, nutritional coaching, dermatology, dentistry, and more. When you get hungry and crave a delicious meal, you will be pleased to know that Brenners Park Hotel & Spa has plenty of great options, including Gun Park Restaurant (an elegant European restaurant that was awarded two Michelin stars), and Winter Garden (delicious Mediterranean cuisine). This hotel also has lounges for couples to extend their evenings of fun and romance.

Exploring Culture in Berlin

Berlin is an exciting city that is full of fascinating sights, exceptional museums, trendy shops, and much more. With so much to see and experience, it’s a good idea to decide on what you really want to see and do ahead of time. If museums are a must-see, you should add Brucke Museum (expressionist art) and Natural History Museum in Potsdam (a closer look at local nature). If you want to squeeze in a shopping trip or two, make sure you visit Alexa Shopping Centre (upscale mall that’s filled with amazing stores and boutiques) and Europa Center (a cool plaza that features over 70 shops and services).

Part 2 coming soon!
